Tejas MK1A Fighter Jet: A big update has come out regarding the indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A. Indigenous fighter jet Tejas MK1A is coming to wreak havoc on the enemies. HAL can deliver to the Indian Air Force this year. Tejas Mk1A has modern features like AESA radar. Leave alone Pakistan, even China is in awe of these modern features. This is a big step for indigenous defense production.
Let us tell you that the Indian Air Force is struggling with the shortage of squadrons. At present the IAF has only 29 fighter squadrons instead of the sanctioned strength of 42. Older aircraft like the MiG-21 have been retired. Due to which the fighting power is being affected.
There was a long delay in the delivery of indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A. Now Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has given a big update. HAL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. DK Sunil recently told that five Tejas Mk1A aircraft are completely ready. Firing and missile trials have also been completed successfully. The company will soon talk to the Indian Air Force (IAF) for their approval. Preparations are on to deliver these in this financial year itself.
Engine supply problem now over
The main problem in the delivery of the first Tejas Mk1A was the delay in the supply of F404 engines from GE Aerospace. But now engines are being found slowly. HAL has prepared five aircraft by fitting them with engines. HAL says that after the trials, some remaining small tests will also be completed soon. After that these aircraft will be handed over to IAF.

Modern features of Tejas Mk1A
Tejas Mk1A is much better than the old Mk1. It has AESA radar, advanced electronic warfare systems, improved avionics and air-to-air refueling capability. These features make it more lethal and modern. These aircraft will form the backbone of the future for the IAF. HAL has already won the deal for 83 Tejas Mk1A. Total orders are up to 180.

Important steps for self-reliant India
Indigenous platforms like Tejas will make India self-reliant in the defense sector in the long run. But timely delivery is most important. This update of HAL shows that the program is now on the right track. If the IAF is satisfied and the trials are completed, the first five Tejas Mk1A could be inducted into the air force by March 2026.
