Once upon a time, a man went to his in-laws’ house to take his wife. After staying at his in-laws’ house for a few days, the man asked his in-laws to send his wife away but the in-laws said that today is Wednesday and we do not travel on this day. But the person flatly refused to accept his words. Ultimately the girl’s parents had to agree with their son-in-law and sent their daughter along. There was a forest on the way, where his wife felt thirsty. The husband stopped his chariot and went to fetch water from the forest. After some time, when he returned back to his wife, he was surprised to see that a person exactly like him was sitting in the chariot near his wife.
Seeing this he got angry and said who are you and why are you sitting near my wife. But he was surprised to hear the other person’s answer. The person said that I am sitting near my wife. I have just brought it from my in-laws’ house. Now both the persons started fighting. Seeing this fight, the state police arrested both of them.
Seeing all this the person was very disappointed and said, Oh God, what kind of justice is this, the one who is true has become a liar and the one who is false has become truthful. It is said that after this a voice from the sky said, ‘O fool, today is Wednesday and do not travel on this day. You did not listen to anyone and brought your wife this day. Hearing this he realized that he had made a mistake. After this he prayed to Buddha to forgive him.
After this, both husband and wife started worshiping Lord Mercury as per rules. According to astrologers, the person who remembers this story does not feel guilty about traveling on Wednesday and gets all kinds of happiness. If a person starts any new work on Wednesday then it is also considered auspicious.
