'Sarvam Maya' is a charming horror film that follows Prabhendhu Nambhoothiri played by Nivin Pauly who comes from a respected priest family. He wants to be a singer and is trying very hard. But something unexpected happens in his life and he must return to his old home.

Prabhendhu starts doing part-time priest work with his cousin so he can earn money. After one puja, he suddenly sees a ghost. He later calls her Delulu. She does not hurt him. She follows him around and slowly changes his life in strange but funny ways. Although its a simple storyline, the ending leaves several questions to the audiences.

How Delulu and Prabhendhu start connecting At first Prabhendhu feels confused because he does not understand why this ghost is with him all the time. But Delulu acts friendly. She guides him and supports him. She becomes a part of his daily world. He is also dealing with his feelings for a girl named Saadhya, and that makes everything more mixed up. Still Delulu stays with him and he slowly understands that she has her own story and her own pain.

The final thirty minutes and Delulu’s truth In the last part of the movie Delulu finally tells Prabhendhu that she loves him. She says this when they are returning after meeting Saadhya. Prabhendhu does not know what to say because he likes Saadhya. He becomes shaken. But then Delulu begins remembering her past. When she hugs him he suddenly feels all her memories. He understands her whole story. She then says her real name: Maya Mathew. After she shares her truth she goes away calmly. It feels like she finally found peace.


Prabhendhu meets Maya’s mother for closure

After Maya leaves Prabhendhu goes to see her mother. He tells her that he is a friend of Maya. Maya’s mother looks at him and asks him something important. She asks if he is the person Maya loved before she died. Prabhendhu thinks for a moment. He pauses. Then he says yes. We do not know if this answer is true or if he simply wanted Maya’s mother to feel comfort. But the scene makes it clear that the makers wanted to give peace to both of them. When he leaves the house he feels a small breeze and remembers Maya saying the breeze is her presence.


What happens to Prabhendhu after everything

After all this Prabhendhu continues his life. He becomes a musician like he always dreamed. He moves forward but carries Maya’s memory in a soft and quiet way. The film shows that Maya helped him understand himself better. Her presence changed his life even though she was a ghost. He learns to live fully again.

ETimes verdict for 'Sarvam Maya'

Our official ETimes review said, “The first half works as an effective build-up, while the second half slightly lags, even though the plot truly begins to move only then.” It also said the ending takes time but still gives joy and calm. The review also said, “What adds an extra emotional layer is how Vineeth and Methil Devika carry their brief appearance towards the end. The emotions they evoke through a simple reaction are deeply shattering.” The review added that the Gen Z lingo works well and the music “syncs neatly with the film’s mood.” The movie leaves small questions open but gives a sweet, peaceful feeling at the end.
