The tourism department of Maharashtra government participated in this six-day festival by setting up a hall. The hall of the tourism department in the festival attracted everyone’s attention.

Information about various tourist areas of the state, facilities to go to tourist places, available facilities etc. was provided through this gallery.
Information about places with special touristic features like cultural heritage, beaches, UNESCO recognized forts was conveyed to the tourists through this hall. The main purpose behind this gallery was to convey the information about the tourist places of the state to the world.
Dignitaries from various fields, national and international level stakeholders and many tourists visited the hall of the tourism department. Constituents from various levels of the tourism sector showed interest in knowing more about Maharashtra tourism and services. Many appreciated the gallery’s creative presentation as well as its efforts to promote Maharashtra’s rich culture and diverse tourism potential.
Principal Secretary Sanjay Khandare said that “Through ‘Bharat Parv’ festival, the effort to bring the state’s tourism and rich traditions to the world level was successful. It was especially beneficial to convey the information about the state’s forts, cultural heritage, beaches, cool air places and other touristic places to the world. National as well as international level stakeholders showed more interest to know about Maharashtra tourism. This will definitely benefit the tourism sector economically”.
Director Dr. B.N. Patil, Directorate of Tourism (BPR) said that “Maharashtra Tourism Department participated in Bharat Parva festival and conveyed the information of various tourist places in the state to various components of the tourism sector. Information about tourism services and facilities was shared by the stakeholders participating in the festival. This will help stakeholders in various tourism sectors to increase tourism. Also, through the said festival, Maharashtra Tourism Department has once again highlighted its identity in the tourism sector”.

Maharashtra Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs was established on 31 May 2006. The department was established with the aim of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the state and strengthening the tourism sector. Tourism and culture are closely linked.
