Layoffs again in Ola Electric, 5% employees will be laid off, Zupee also laid off 200 people

Ola Electric Layoffs: Electric scooter manufacturing company Ola Electric is going to do layoffs once again. The company is preparing to fire about 5 percent of its employees. This decision is said to be part of the restructuring process of the company.

Ola Electric says that it is bringing more automation in its front-end operations to increase speed and discipline in work. The company wants to build a small but strong team, which can grow profitably in the long run.

Ola Electric Layoffs

At present Ola Electric is not making profit. The company has seen a decline in sales in FY 2026, while companies like Ather Energy, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto have overtaken the market.

According to media reports, Ola had made major internal changes in March 2025 also. During that time, about 1,000 employees were laid off from the sales, distribution and marketing departments.

Earlier in November 2024, the company had also conducted retrenchment, in which about 500 employees were affected. Apart from this, many senior officers have also left the company. In December 2024, Chief Marketing Officer Anshul Khandelwal and Chief Technology Officer Suvonil Chatterjee resigned.

Reduction in staff in Zupee also

At the same time, gaming and entertainment platform Zupee has also announced layoffs. The company is laying off about 200 employees, which is about 40 percent of its total staff.

The company says that this decision has been taken due to new government rules to online gaming and changing market conditions. Earlier in September 2025 also, Jupi had laid off 170 employees.
