Unidentified assailants fired multiple rounds outside the Mumbai residence of filmmaker Rohit Shetty late Saturday night, prompting heightened security in the area, police officials said on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 12.43 am outside Shetty’s home in Juhu, following which Mumbai Police deployed additional personnel as a precautionary measure. No injuries were reported, and the filmmaker and his family are said to be safe.

Police Launch Investigation, Motive Unknown

According to police officials, four to five rounds were fired outside the premises. Teams are currently examining multiple angles to identify those involved in the firing.

“The motive behind the incident is not yet known,” police said, adding that an investigation is underway. Forensic teams have been deployed at the site to collect evidence and trace the assailants, ANI reported.

Heightened Security Outside the Residence

Video footage circulating on social media shows a heavy police presence outside Rohit Shetty’s residence, including police vehicles, barricades, and officers stationed around the building.

As a precautionary step, security around the area has been increased while authorities continue to assess the situation.

No Official Statement from the Filmmaker

Rohit Shetty and his family have not issued any official statement regarding the incident so far.

Security Concerns for Bollywood Figures

The firing has once again raised concerns over the safety and security of Bollywood personalities. In recent years, similar incidents have been reported outside the Mumbai residence of actor Salman Khan, with responsibility claimed by the Bishnoi gang in several cases.
