Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a major administrative step by further tightening its ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards corruption. The state government has stopped the salaries of over 68,000 employees who failed to upload details of their movable and immovable assets on the ‘Manav Sampada’ portal within the stipulated time limit. The government had fixed January 31 as the last date for submitting property details, and those violating them have now been punished.

Action will be taken if rules are not followed
Along with this, the officials have also clarified that unless the employees successfully file their mandatory asset declarations on the portal, their salary for the month of January will not be released. Apart from this, the government has also indicated that if compliance with the rules is not ensured, punitive disciplinary action can also be taken against the concerned employees.

This decision has created a stir in all the government departments of the state and has given a strong message to the employees to remain disciplined.

Widespread negligence in departments
The data released by the government makes it clear that ignoring the rules was not limited to any one particular section, but was widely spread across various service categories. According to the report, a total of 34,926 Group C employees, 22,624 Group D employees, 7,204 Group B officials and 2,628 Group A senior officials failed to declare their assets.

This department is at the top of the list
Talking about departments, major departments like Public Works Department (PWD), Revenue, Education, Health and Social Welfare are at the top in the list. Non-compliance by such a large number of employees in these important departments shows the seriousness and scope of this problem, which the government is now in favor of solving with full strictness.
