Judd Trump is gunning for his first title since the UK Championship in November 2024, at the German Masters, but standing in his way is Shaun Murphy, currently in the form of his life at the Berlin Tempodrom. The two finalists breezed through their semi-finals, with Murphy putting Neil Robertson to the sword with a 6-1 victory and Trump followed that up with a 6-2 victory over Ali Carter.
Murphy made three century breaks to reach the final, where he could lift the Brandon Parker Trophy for the first time in his career. Parker, who died in 2020, was Murphy's close friend and manager. The title was named after him a year after his death. He is in the final for a second time, having lost to Mark Selby in 2015.
