Australian Open 2026 Final: Spain's young sensation Carlos Alcaraz created history by defeating Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final of Australian Open 2026. World number-1 Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in four sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5. With this he won his first Australian Open title and also completed his career Grand Slam. At the age of just 22, Alcaraz has now become the youngest male player to win all four Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open). Earlier this record was in the name of Rafael Nadal.
Won by winning three sets in a row
Novak Djokovic started the match brilliantly. He broke Carlos Alcaraz's serve several times in the first set and won the set 6-2. Djokovic's serve-volley and strong play at the net troubled Alcaraz in the beginning. But Alcaraz soon made a comeback, in the second set he won 6-2 on the basis of aggressive returns and strong serve, leveling the match.
Alcaraz's dominance continued in the third set. He performed better in long rallies and targeted Djokovic's forehand. After saving several break points, Alcaraz won the set 6-3. The fourth set was the most exciting, where both the players played tremendous rallies. One rally lasted for 24 shots. Alcaraz broke at 5-4 and then won championship point on a forehand error from Djokovic. Djokovic saved some match points, but ultimately Alcaraz won.
