Police have launched an investigation into a suspected armed robbery at a Subway branch in Ellesmere Retail Park, Walkden. Greater Manchester Police said a man entered the takeaway shop on the evening of Saturday, January 31.
The suspect "then produced what appears to be a gun and fled with a small amount of cash". In a statement, GMP said the suspect "was wearing a mask, a black hooded coat, black trousers and trainers, and around six feet tall".
The suspect is believed to have arrived to the Subway branch in a small, black car between 8.25pm and 8.35pm, police also said.
On February 1, GMP released the CCTV image of a man inside the takeaway branch, as a probe into the incident is ongoing.
Acknowledging the "concerning" nature of the incident, GMP said patrols are being stepped up in the area, the MEN reports.
Detective Inspector Louise Haslam, of Swinton CID, said: "While this will be worrying and concerning, this type of incident is extremely rare in Greater Manchester.
"We will have extra officers in the area today and the next couple of days as we continue our investigation and provide a reassuring presence."
GMP are also appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
She added: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage to please contact us."
