New Delhi. Transactions through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in the country have reached a record level in January with a value of Rs 28.33 lakh crore and a volume of 21.70 billion.
This information has come to light in the data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Sunday. According to NPCI, the value of transactions through UPI in December 2025 was Rs 27.97 lakh crore. An increase of 21 percent has been recorded in the value of transactions on a monthly basis. According to the data, the average daily transaction in January was Rs 70 crore with an average value of Rs 91,403 crore.

Worldline Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ramesh Narasimhan said that the growth momentum of UPI continues to strengthen. In January alone, Indians made 21.7 billion UPI transactions worth Rs 28.33 lakh crore, higher than December, representing a strong growth of 28 per cent year-on-year.
