Triveni Sangam Aarti Magh Mela: One of the biggest bathing festivals of Magh Mela being organized in Sangam city Prayagraj is ‘Maghi Purnima’. But on Sunday a wonderful sight of faith was seen. Despite bitter cold and dense fog, around 2.10 crore devotees took a dip at the Triveni Sangam and various ghats of the Ganga till 6 pm on Sunday.
Faith prevails over cold and fog
According to the fair authority, the arrival of devotees had started from Saturday midnight itself. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma said that the visibility was very low in the morning, but despite this the enthusiasm of the devotees did not diminish. In view of security, sailors and divers along with NDRF and SDRF teams were deployed at all the ghats. The entire fair area is being monitored through CCTV cameras and drones.
One month’s difficult Kalpvas of Kalpvasis ends
The day of Maghi Purnima is very important for those Kalpavasis who stay on the banks of Sangam for a month. ‘Kalpvas’ (meditation) Was doing. Acharya Rajendra Mishra, President of Triveni Sangam Aarti Seva Samiti, said that one month of disciplined life and meditation of about 5 lakh Kalpavasis ended today with the last bath. The relatives of the Kalpavasis have reached the fair area to take them, due to which a huge crowd was seen in the entire area.
Administrative facilities and basic facilities
Divisional Commissioner Soumya Aggarwal said that this huge fair area spread over 800 hectares has been divided into seven sectors. The following arrangements have been made for the convenience of the devotees:
- Sanitation system: More than 25 thousand toilets and deployment of 3,500 sanitation workers.
- Security forces: More than 10 thousand policemen deployed for smooth movement and security.
- Parking: In view of the pressure of vehicles, 42 temporary parking spaces have been created.
- Construction of ghats: A total of 12,100 feet long safe ghats have been built for the devotees.
Upcoming completion of Magh Mela
According to administrative officials, Maghi Purnima With this the biggest phase of the fair has been completed. Now Magh Mela 2025-26 will be formally concluded on 15th February with the last bathing festival of Mahashivratri. Superintendent of Police Neeraj Pandey said that the police force is fully prepared for crowd control and traffic management.
