Bengaluru: A complaint has been filed against Kannada actor and director Chakravarthy Chandrachud, accusing him of making derogatory remarks against film producers.

The Kannada Film Producers Association has lodged a complaint at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru, alleging that Chandrachud made offensive statements targeting producers.

According to the complaint, Chakravarthy Chandrachud recently spoke about Tamil actor Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan on his YouTube channel. The film is being produced by well-known production house KVN Productions. During the discussion, Chandrachud allegedly made objectionable remarks about film producers.

In his comments, Chandrachud reportedly said that some producers take extreme care of actors and their personal comforts, but fail to pay technicians, light boys, production staff, and writers properly. He allegedly claimed that such practices are followed by several big producers in the industry.

The Producers Association stated that these remarks were obscene and insulting, and were made publicly through a digital platform. The complaint alleged that the statements caused serious damage to the reputation, dignity, and honour of Kannada film producers.

It was further stated in the complaint that Chandrachud misused digital media to make such comments. Several producers, including representatives of KVN Productions, have reportedly supported the complaint and demanded action against him.

The association has also indicated that producers are prepared to protest if necessary, seeking appropriate action against Chakravarthy Chandrachud.
