When it comes to grocery shopping, most people have their go-to stores. For the majority of my weekly shop, I head to Sainsbury's. It's convenient, reliable, and offers a wide range of products to suit my needs. I also love the majority of their own-branded items.
But when it comes to one particular item, I don't hesitate to head to M&S instead. I would buy all my grocery items at M&S if I could, but some items just aren't worth it for me. However, one item in particular I'll only ever buy from the high-end retailer is strawberries.
Fruit is an essential part of many people's weekly food shops, but it can turn mouldy very fast.
Although there are a number of storage hacks to keep strawberries fresher for longer, I do find purchasing them from M&S means they stay fresher for longer.
Whether I go in to buy just one punnet or a few, I'll never buy them anywhere else. I find the quality and taste are better, and they're not much more expensive than other supermarkets.
For example, a 250g punnet in Sainsbury's is £2.25, and the same size is £2.60 in M&S.
While slightly more expensive, I don't find myself wasting any of the strawberries like I usually do.
The supermarket has also recently expanded its simple ingredients range, taking everyday foods and making them healthier.
The packaging is genius, clearly stating what is inside each food item, and I bought a selection to try. M&S avocado oil crisps, although retailing for a whopping £3.90, were delicious, as were the sausages, meatballs and bread.
The condiments were also tasty and tasted fresh, and I'm excited to go back to pick up the baked beans.
