Delhi Free Laptop Scheme: The Delhi government will provide free laptops to students. Find out who can benefit from this scheme and how to apply.

Delhi Free Laptop Scheme: Governments in different states of the country periodically launch schemes for their students to make education easier and more convenient. Some provide bicycles, some provide scholarships, and others provide digital resources. In this direction, the Delhi government has also taken a significant step.

Under the Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme, meritorious students who perform exceptionally well in the 10th grade will be given free laptops. The aim of this scheme is to ensure that children do not face any difficulties in online learning and preparing for competitive examinations. Let's tell you who can apply for this scheme and what the process will be.

Delhi Government Free Laptop Scheme

Every year, the Delhi government will provide high-configuration i7 laptops to 1200 top students. These laptops are worth more than Rs. 60,000. A budget of approximately Rs. 7.5 crore has been allocated for this. These laptops will prove extremely helpful in tasks such as online classes, e-books, project work, coding, and research. Girls have also been given equal opportunities in this scheme. The government believes that increased access to technology will strengthen both the confidence and future of the children. This initiative is also an attempt to implement the vision of Digital India at the grassroots level, where education goes beyond books and is based on technology.

Who can benefit?

Both male and female students will benefit from the Delhi government's scheme. Certain conditions have been set to avail of this scheme. First, the student must be a permanent resident of Delhi. The student must have passed the 10th-grade examination from the CBSE board and secured a place in the top 1200 of the merit list. They must have studied in a regular school and be enrolled in the 11th grade. Open school or private candidates will not be covered under this scheme. Girls who are in the merit list will also directly benefit from this scheme. Your son or daughter can also benefit from this scheme if they meet these conditions.

How to apply?

The best part of this scheme is that there is no need to apply separately. After the 10th-grade results are declared, the top 1200 students will be directly selected from the CBSE merit list. Laptops will then be distributed at a ceremony. If needed, the necessary documents can be submitted through the school. There is no lengthy process, no forms to fill out, or long queues. The selection process will be entirely merit-based.
