There is good news for young people dreaming of a government job in the police department. The Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has released a notification for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Sub-Inspector Operator (BPSSC ASI Vacancy 2026). According to the notification, applications for the ASI posts will start today, February 4th. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online by filling out the form on the official BPSSC website, bpssc.bihar.gov.in. The last date for application is March 4, 2026.

Recruitment Details
Through this recruitment, a total of 462 vacant posts of ASI will be filled. Of these, 185 are reserved for the Unreserved category, 46 for EWS, 83 for EBC, 55 for BC, 14 for BC Female, 74 for SC, and 5 for ST. Selected candidates will be provided a salary according to Level 5.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Bihar ASI Operator posts, candidates must have passed Graduation (B.Sc) with Physics as a subject from a recognized university/institution with 50% marks by August 1, 2025. The passing percentage for SC and ST categories is 45%. In addition, the minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years. The maximum age is 37 years for male candidates and 40 years for female candidates. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Age will be calculated as of August 1, 2025.

Physical Eligibility
The minimum height for General and Backward Class candidates should be 165 cm, and the chest measurement should be 81 cm (unexpanded) and 86 cm (expanded).
The minimum height for Extremely Backward Class, SC, and ST candidates should be 160 cm, and the chest measurement should be 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded).

Applications for this recruitment can only be submitted online; no other method of application will be accepted. All candidates, regardless of category, will be required to pay an application fee of ₹100. The application fee can be paid online.
