The political temperature in New Delhi reached its peak on Wednesday when BJP MP Nishikant Dubey launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at a press conference. There was an uproar when Rahul read excerpts from an unpublished book during the Lok Sabha debate on the President’s address. Dubey accused it of holding the Parliament hostage for three days.

While interacting with the journalists, Dubey said, ‘Rahul Gandhi does not even know the ABCs of the rules of the House. They are referring to a book which has not even been published. If such books can be discussed, then why not banned books? He mentioned several banned books raising questions on the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Charles’s ‘India Independent’ described a conspiracy by Nehru, Mountbatten and Edwina to partition the country, which was banned in 1964. The novel ‘Edwina and Nehru’ contains details of their personal meetings. Dubey cited ‘The Life of Indira Nehru Gandhi’, which contains allegations of Indira’s alleged connections and KGB funding.

In ‘Nehru: A Political Biography’, Nehru is accused of breaking India, deception and immorality from 1921 to 1964. MO Mathai’s revelations in ‘Beginners and Nehru Age’ are that Indira lived with him for 12 years. Apart from this, by mentioning books like ‘Ceasefire’, ‘The Art of India’, ‘Nepal’, ‘Captive Kashmir’ and ‘Himalayan Blunder’, Dubey exposed the alleged truths of the Congress family.

If Rahul likes ‘book game’ then there should be a debate on it, Dubey challenged. This controversy is giving a new height to the parliamentary heat.
