The administration has conducted a special vehicle checking drive to control the regular traffic congestion and vehicular movement chaos in Shahkund market. Two-wheelers and four-wheelers were scrutinized during the raid and a total fine of Rs 9,000 was collected for various violations.

According to the information of the administration, common people were facing problems due to daily traffic jam in Shahkund market. Especially school going children, elderly people and patients were facing more difficulties in this situation. In view of this, the joint team of traffic police and local administration started checking vehicles at the main intersections and crowded areas of the market area.

During the checking operation, many two-wheeler drivers were driving without helmets. Also some drivers did not have valid driving license. In some cases the vehicle registration and insurance documents are also found to be incomplete. On-the-spot challans are levied against violators and some drivers are also given warnings.

The authorities said that the drive was not only aimed at collecting fines, but also aimed at increasing awareness among people about traffic rules. According to them, the problem of traffic congestion due to illegal parking and violation of rules was increasing in the market area, hence the need for regular checking and strict action.

The administration clarified that vehicle checking operations will continue in Shahkund and surrounding areas in the coming days as well. Besides, drivers have been requested to wear helmets, keep all necessary documents and follow traffic rules.
