Suryakumar Yadav Drops Bombshell, Sanju Samson’s Wait For ICC Event Debut To Extend; India Name New Opening Pair

Suryakumar Yadav dropped a bombshell and gave Sanju Samson gave a devastating blow to Sanju Samson, who is set to warm the bench in the 2026 T20 World Cup and will have to continue waiting for his debut in an ICC Event after not getting to play a single game in the 2024 T20 World Cup victory for the Men in Blue.
Ahead of their warm-up game against South Africa on Wednesday (February 4) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Suryakumar revealed that India will have a new opening pair, which confirmed that Sanju Samson's long rope has ended. Ishan Kishan will open the batting with Abhishek Sharma, and unless of injuries, it will not be a surprise that remains the case in the mega event also when India kickstart their campaign against the United States of America (USA) on Saturday (February 7).
'Definetly Abhishek and Ishan,' said Suryakumar after being asked about India's opening pair at the toss.
