Namibia registered a thrilling victory over Scotland in a high-scoring warm-up match ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The win was largely due to an explosive 137-run partnership between openers Jan Frylinck and Louren Steenkamp, who took just 71 balls to do so.
Their stellar performance helped Namibia post a formidable total of 226 runs for four wickets.
In response, Scotland managed 220/5 in 20 overs.
McMullen's blistering knock goes in vain

Scotland, in reply to Namibia's mammoth total, was led by Brandon McMullen who scored a blistering 95 off just 39 balls.
Besides his 95, the likes of Richie Berrington (46) and Mark Watt (33) also chipped in.
Scotland got close to the target but Namibia's bowlers stepped up at the last moment, restricting them to 220 runs for five wickets.
The match went down to the wire with Scotland needing 12 runs off the final over.
Smit shines with ball in final over

Namibia's JJ Smit was the star performer in the final over, bowling Scotland captain Berrington on the second ball and conceding just five runs.
Despite a cameo from former New Zealand international Tom Bruce (20 off 14 balls), Scotland fell short of their target.
This thrilling encounter not only showcased Namibia's batting prowess but also highlighted their bowling strength under pressure.

Earlier, Scotland replaced Bangladesh in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The decision came after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) refused to change its stance on participating in India, despite being given time by the International Cricket Council (ICC). With Bangladesh's exit, Scotland will be part of Group C in the tournament's preliminary stage.
