Train Cancellation News: Due to bridge work on the Uttarakhand and UP routes, several important trains have been cancelled until May and June. Passengers from Rudrapur and the Terai region are advised to check train status before traveling.

Train Cancellation News: Millions of passengers travel by train every day in India, and a large number of people travel between Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Even a small change in rail service disrupts the plans of thousands of passengers. Due to ongoing engineering work in the Jammu Tawi division, train cancellations have been extended further.

Repair and structural strengthening work is underway on bridges 17, 163, 137, and 232.  Because of this, the operation of several trains passing through Rudrapur and the Terai region will be affected until June. This may force passengers to make alternative arrangements. Check for updates before traveling.

Trains Cancelled Due to This Reason

The work being done on the bridges in the Jammu Tawi division is not routine repair but a heavy structural upgrade. The railway's focus is on safety first, then service. This is why the cancellation period for several trains has been extended. This is directly impacting passengers from Rudrapur and the entire Terai belt.

Especially those who travel daily or for long distances. Passengers are having to change their travel plans repeatedly. The railway has issued an advisory stating that passengers should check the live status of their train before leaving the station to avoid inconvenience.

These Trains Cancelled Until May-June

According to the latest information from the railways, the operation of several trains passing through the Terai route has been postponed until May and June. This includes train number 12207 Kathgodam–Jammu Tawi Express, which will remain cancelled until June 2, 2026.  Similarly, the return train, 12208 Jammu Tawi–Kathgodam Express, will remain cancelled until May 31, 2026. These two trains are considered extremely important for long-distance travelers, especially those traveling from Uttarakhand to Jammu. Their stop in Rudrapur also made them a popular option for local passengers.

On the same route, train number 12209 Kanpur Central–Kathgodam Express will not run until June 2, 2026, while train number 12210 Kathgodam–Kanpur Central Express will remain canceled until June 1, 2026. This train was considered very convenient for passengers traveling between Kanpur and Kathgodam.

In addition, train number 14611 Ghazipur City–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express will remain canceled until May 29, 2026, and train number 14612 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Ghazipur City Express will be canceled until May 28, 2026. The cancellation of this train will further increase the difficulties for passengers traveling from Rudrapur and the Terai region to Jammu and Kashmir.
