News India Live, Digital Desk: BJP’s firebrand leader and Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu Has given a strong reply to the remarks made by Rahul Gandhi on him. Recently, Bittu hit back at Rahul Gandhi’s statements regarding Bittu (in which he was allegedly addressed as a traitor for switching sides) citing his family’s sacrifice.

Bittu’s counterattack: ‘Sacrifice’ vs ‘rhetoric’

While talking to the media, Ravneet Singh Bittu said that he does not need a certificate of patriotism from Rahul Gandhi. His main arguments were as follows:

Heritage reference: Bittu said, “My grandfather Beant Singh (Former Chief Minister of Punjab) gave his martyrdom for the unity of the country and to end terrorism in Punjab. Calling a family that sheds blood for the country a traitor shows the small mentality of Rahul Gandhi.”

Questions on Congress policy: He alleged that Rahul Gandhi goes to foreign soil and stands with anti-national forces and defames India. According to Bittu, the real traitor is the one who goes out and weakens the democracy of the country.

Cleaning after changing sides: Bittu clarified that he has joined BJP for the interest of the country and the development of Punjab and not for any selfishness.

Root of controversy: Why did this war start?

This controversy deepened when Rahul Gandhi gave some statements on the situation of Sikhs and India during his visit to America.

Bittu’s attack: At that time Bittu had even called Rahul Gandhi “the country’s number 1 enemy” and a “terrorist”.

Congress reaction: In response, Congress filed FIRs against Bittu across the country and termed him a “political opportunist” and a “traitor”.

Sikh politics and upcoming elections

Ravneet Singh Bittu has emerged as a big Sikh face of BJP in Punjab. His clash with Rahul Gandhi is not just personal, but has deep political meaning behind it:

Vote Bank of Punjab: BJP wants to make inroads among the Sikhs of Punjab through Bittu.

Issue of nationalism: Bittu is constantly cornering Rahul Gandhi on the issue of ‘nationalism’ so that Congress can be put on the defensive.
