Social Media Ban: Amidst the reactions coming from all over the world regarding social media, the Spanish government has taken a big decision. Social media will now be banned in Spain for children up to 16 years of age. Speaking about the ill effects of the online world, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced this. He made this announcement at the Dubai Summit held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Spain wants to ban social media for children under 16. Greece is also close to announcing a similar ban for children under 15, a senior government source said. Addressing the program, he said that it has been decided to ban social media to protect the young generation of the country from the harm caused by obscene and inflammatory online content. Soon the government will also issue its notification.
Sanchez also said his government would enact a law that would hold social media executives personally liable for hate speech on their platforms.
