After the public murder of nurse Deepshikha Chadhar while on duty in Sagar district, Congress has again raised the issue of women’s safety. Umang Singhar has accused the BJP government that the security and law and order of the state has completely collapsed. He said that this incident has shown the mirror to the claims of the government regarding the safety of women.
Congress also alleges that due to lack of police force in the state, weak system of night patrolling and lack of prompt action against crimes, the morale of criminals has increased. The Leader of Opposition has demanded the Chief Minister to take immediate cognizance of this matter, arrest the accused immediately, give strictest punishment and give appropriate compensation to the family of the deceased nurse.
Nurse shot dead
Nurse Deepshikha Chadhar, who was on duty at the Community Health Center in Shahgarh town of Sagar district, was shot dead near the gate. This incident happened around 8.30 pm on Wednesday night when Deepshikha had just reached the entrance of the hospital complex. The unknown assailant suddenly fired at them and fled from the spot. Seriously injured Deepshikha died on the spot. The police have sent the body for post-mortem, registered a case and started investigation.
Umang Singhar surrounded the government
After this incident, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has launched a scathing attack on the state government. He said that the morale of criminals is high during the BJP rule and the shooting of a nurse on duty at the gate of the Community Health Center in Shahgarh has exposed the government’s hollow claims regarding women’s safety. The Congress leader said that this heinous incident that took place near crowded areas like police station and bus stand is proof that the law and order situation in the state has completely collapsed. He said that women are feeling unsafe in Madhya Pradesh and this situation is the result of the serious and inefficient governance of the BJP government. Along with this, Umang Singhar has demanded the Chief Minister to take cognizance of this entire matter, ensure strict action against the accused and give appropriate compensation to the family of the deceased.
