A recently published interview with Jeffrey Epstein has horrified viewers with its disturbing content after the convicted sex offender's made candid remarks about himself, his crimes, political leaders.

The interview, led by former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, captures Epstein freely discussing his criminal convictions whilst framing them within his own philosophical and ethical perspectives.

The two-hour recording, filmed at Epstein's Manhattan home, was part of a media training exercise aimed at rehabilitating Epstein's public reputation after his 2008 criminal conviction.

In one particularly disturbing moment, Bannon presented Epstein with a hypothetical situation involving aid money being given to those suffering from severe poverty and illness: "[If] we walked into that clinic where they're giving that money out to these people that are the most dire straits of poverty and sickness and told them that the money was coming from a... What are you, Class 3 sexual predator?".

"Tier 1," Epstein replied. Bannon pressed further: "Tier 1 is the highest and worst", reports the Mirror US.

"No, the lowest. I'm the lowest. You're the lowest," Epstein insisted.

"Okay, Tier one, you're the lowest. But a criminal," Bannon continued before asking what proportion of people would accept money knowing its source was a criminal of his nature.

"I would say, everyone said, 'I want the money for my children,'" was Epstein's response.

"I think if you told them, the devil himself said, 'I going to exchange some dollars for your child's life'?".

Bannon then challenged him: "Do you think you're the devil himself?".

"No. But I do have a good mirror," Epstein shot back.

When Bannon pursued the same line of questioning, Epstein countered: "I don't know. Why would you say that?".

At the time of the 2019 interview, Epstein was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His criminal history included a 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution, followed by subsequent federal sex trafficking allegations.

The footage formed part of 2,000 videos disclosed by The Department of Justice, alongside roughly three million pages of documentation, encompassing 180,000 images relating to the case.

Shortly after the interview, on 10 August 2019, Epstein died by suicide in his New York jail cell, aged 66.
