Chelsea boss Liam Roseniorhas accused Arsenal staff of a 'lack of respect' after explaining his pre-match outburst. The former Strasbourg head coach was spotted berating members of the Gunners backroom team who were in Chelsea's half of the pitch during the warm-ups before the Carabao Cup clash between the two sides.

Asked about his anger, Rosenior insisted that it was nothing to do with the Arsenal players but was instead irritated by coaches encroaching on the Chelsea side of the pitch.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend's clash with Wolves, Rosenior said: "It wasn't the players. When you warm up, we have our half and the other team have our half. I've never asked my team or coaches to encroach on the other team's territory.

"I thought they were affecting our warm up. I asked them, maybe not politely, to move away. I don't have an issue with anyone at Arsenal Football Club. It was just in that moment, I don't think that respect was shown to my team."

Chelsea eventually ended up slipping to defeat at the Emirates, with former Blues striker Kai Havertzscoring late on to condemn Rosenior's side to a4-2 aggregate defeat.

Chelsea's performance was widely criticised, with Paul Merson particularly scathing. Rosenior added: "The noise doesn't surprise me at all, that comes with the territory.

"What other teams do, it has nothing to do with me. What people think about the way my teams play makes no difference to my decision making. We didn't go through so there are always things you can do differently, but that was a very, very solid performance and the game could have easily gone our way."

Chelsea now turn their attentions to this weekend's clash against rock-bottom Wolves at Molineux. Victory could put Chelsea back into the top four.

Asked about his side's upcoming game, Rosenior added: "We prepare in exactly the same way. I've watched Rob's team recently. They put in a very good performance against Bournemouth and were unfortunate not to get anything from the game. I want to see a consistency from this group in our engagement in every game we play. It's another important game in our season."
