Actor Surinder Vicky has addressed his absence from the second season of ‘Kohrra,’ even as he focuses on his upcoming series ‘Shabad 'Reet Aur Riwaaz’. The actor, who became widely recognized after his performance in ‘Kohrra’ in 2023, said he remained emotionally connected to the show but accepted that it was time to move on. He revealed that he was unaware of plans for a second season while he was working on other projects.
Surinder Vicky reacts to missing ‘Kohrra’ season 2As reported by Mid-day, Surinder Vicky said he was not aware that the makers planned another season of ‘Kohrra.’ The actor shared that the show’s success surprised many, including its creators. He said, “Initially, I think the makers didn’t expect the show to blow up in a way that there would be a second season. Sudip has also [said] that. I didn’t even know when the second part was happening, or if it was happening at all. I was shooting for Glory [his upcoming Netflix show] at that time. When I was told that I wasn’t part of Kohrra 2 , I thought, ‘Okay, I anyway have work’.”
The new season of Sudip Sharma’s series includes Barun Sobti from the original cast and introduces Mona Singh to the storyline. Despite not returning, Surinder Vicky showed no disappointment about the change. He said, “Not at all. Whatever happens, happens for the good.” He also demonstrated his attachment to the show by discussing its impact and jokingly asked, “Are people missing me?”

The role allowed him to experience a father-son emotional bond, which he found deeply personal. He recalled, “After the shoot, I hugged my father, which I had never done in my life. I couldn’t tell him that I love him, so I made an excuse to hug him. I felt so much warmth for him after doing the show.”
Unlike his character, Surinder Vicky said he does not pressure his daughters into career decisions. However, he encourages their interest in acting. He shared, “My younger daughter wants to become a doctor, but I tell her that she should try acting. My elder daughter has done a Punjabi film. She asks me if she should [continue] and I [encourage her]. My name [may] help her a bit. Ananya Panday and so many star daughters are doing it. So, why not my daughters?”
