Canal minor track cut, water entered villages, 50 bigha crop submerged

Due to the strong flow, water came out of the fields and filled the doorsteps of the villagers. About 50 bighas of wheat and mustard crops were affected due to water logging. However, the canal department controlled the situation in time by closing Colaba. On Tuesday night, the track of the canal minor was suddenly cut near Jamuava village.

Due to this the canal water spread into the surrounding fields. Due to water filling, the fields of Ratnesh, Shivkumar, Bhagwati Soni, Ramkumar, Mohit Savita, Shailendra, Pawan Yadav, Pintu Savita, Bhullan, Balkrishna Chaurasia and Inderpal Yadav of Jamuawa village were submerged. Standing crops of wheat and mustard have been damaged. Due to the steep slope, the water kept moving forward. Due to this, water reached the houses of Bhullan, Shailendra and Neeraj of Kanhamau village. The doors of the villagers were filled with water.

Toilet pits near the doors were filled with water. Dry wood, straw and cow dung cakes kept outside the houses got wet. Due to this the villagers had to face problems. Villagers said that the fields and in front of the doors were flooded. Due to this they faced inconvenience in coming out. Many villagers told that after many years the canal water has reached their village.

This has provided moisture to the fields. He says that this is likely to increase the ground water level. Saurabh Kumar, Junior Engineer of the Canal Department, said that the tail of the canal was closed two days ago. There is a suspicion that some mischievous element opened it. Water came out of the well on the track near Dinesh Tiwari’s fields and moved towards the village. As soon as the information was received, a team was sent to the spot and Colaba was closed. The Junior Engineer said that wherever there was a possibility of the track being cut, it has also been repaired.
