In Uttar Pradesh, it has now been made mandatory to provide PAN card for purchasing land, house or any kind of immovable property. The Registry Department has issued a new order regarding this. Under this, entering the PAN number and its verification will be important in the registry process at the time of buying and selling of property. Instructions issued by the government have been sent to the registry offices of all the districts. Officials have been told that it is necessary to enter the PAN number of both the buyer and the seller in the online application to property registry. Without PAN information the registration process will not be proceeded further.

PAN number can be verified online

The government has taken this decision to ban suspicious transactions and purchase of benami property. There has been a ban on buying land with foreign funding and wrongful investment in the areas adjacent to the India-Nepal border. By making PAN mandatory, the record of every transaction will be tracked properly. It was informed in the report that the Registry Department made changes in its software system. In this way online verification of PAN number can be done.

Transparency in the process of buying and selling property

With this, registration based on fake documents and wrong identity can be stopped. Besides, it will be easy to match information in tax matters also. On the guidelines sent to all the registry offices, experts say that the new rule will bring more transparency in the process of buying and selling property. Illegal investment cases will be controlled. This rule will start in the entire state. All registry offices will have to strictly follow this. Now if any person wants to purchase land or house in UP, then it will be mandatory for him to give details of his PAN card at the time of registration. Without this, registration will not be possible.
