President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian team for winning the Under-19 World Cup and wished for a bright future for the players. India won this title for the 6th time by defeating England by 100 runs in the final played in Harare, Zimbabwe. The hero of the Indian victory was 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played a brilliant inning of 175 runs in 80 balls, due to which the team scored a huge score of 411 runs for nine wickets.
President Murmu said that the Indian team has brought glory to the country by winning the title while remaining undefeated in the entire tournament. Praising the extraordinary skill of the team, PM Modi said that this victory will inspire the young players.
