New Delhi . The glory of South Indian cinema is no longer limited to India only, but its influence is continuously increasing in foreign countries also. In this series, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2 has achieved great success at the Japan box office. This film, which was released in Japan under the name Pushpa Kunrin on January 16, has made its place in the list of top 10 highest-grossing Indian films there.
Before the release of the film, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna did vigorous promotion in Japan. Although the pace of the film was slow in the initial days, gradually the effect of word of mouth was seen. Especially in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka, the film got good response which strengthened its collection.
According to Sacknik’s report, Pushpa 2 has earned around Rs 6.06 crore in Japan within 14 days. With this earning, the film has overtaken Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 which had earned Rs 6.03 crore in Japan. With this, Pushpa 2 has confirmed its place at number 10.
However, the film still has a long way to go to go higher in this list. The next target is Rajinikanth’s film Enthiran i.e. Robot which had collected around 109.6 million yen in Japan. If the pace of Pushpa 2 continues, its ranking may improve further in the coming days.
Talking about the highest grossing Indian film in Japan, SS Rajamouli’s RRR is still at number 1 in this list. The film had earned a whopping Rs 139.79 crore at the Japan box office. It has set a new benchmark for Indian cinema there.
At second place is Rajinikanth’s classic film Mutthu which did a business of around 405 million yen. At number three is Prabhas’s Baahubali 2, which earned around 305 million yen. After this, Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Sridevi’s English Vinglish are also included in this prestigious list.

Talking about India and worldwide collections, Pushpa 2 has already touched historical figures. The film has earned Rs 1234.1 crore in India and Rs 1742.1 crore worldwide. This film, starring strong actors like Fahadh Faasil, has proved to be the biggest hit of Allu Arjun’s career.
This success at the Japan box office has once again proved that the stories and star power of South Indian cinema are now being liked by the global audience also.
