New Delhi: Spotify, the largest music streaming company, has given a completely new look to its in-app lyrics feature. The company has announced that the lyrics translation feature is now rolled out for all iOS and Android users around the world. Along with this, new features like offline lyrics download and lyrics preview have also been launched, which can prove to be a game-changer especially for premium users.

This feature, which started in 2022, has now reached the global level. Spotify has completed preparations to provide users with a more engaging music experience by using Musixmatch’s karaoke-style lyrics repository.

fun of lyrics

Recently, Spotify announced two major upgrades to its in-app lyrics. Now users will be able to download the lyrics along with the song offline, so that the song can be enjoyed even without internet. The company has clarified that this facility will be available only for premium subscribers.

lyrics preview

Another new feature of Spotify is Lyrics Preview. Now while playing a song, a small portion of the lyrics will appear just below the album art or cover image. The company claims that in initial testing, this new layout makes users feel more connected to the lyrics and motivates them to listen to old songs again. Both free and premium users will be able to take advantage of this feature.

Easily share songs with lyrics on social media

Now users will be able to share songs with lyrics on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook directly from the Now Playing screen. This feature will work on Spotify’s mobile and tablet apps (both Android and iOS). If you do not like the lyrics preview, you can turn it off by going to the three-dot menu and tapping on the Lyrics Off button.

In which languages will the lyrics be?

The most important update that Spotify has announced is that the lyrics translation feature is now available to both free and premium users worldwide. The app will automatically translate the lyrics based on the language of your device. By tapping on the translate icon in the lyrics section, users will be able to see the translated lyrics and switch back to the original language if needed.

However, this feature is currently available only on selected tracks. Spotify introduced this feature in 2022 and expanded it to about 25 markets in 2025. Now with the global rollout, this feature has become even more useful for millions of users.
