New Delhi: On the occasion of completion of one year of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s government, the people of the capital have received the gift of 500 new electric buses. These buses were flagged off by CM Rekha Gupta and BJP National President Nitin Naveen in a grand program organized at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. With this new consignment, Delhi has become the first city in the country to have 4000 electric buses in its public transport fleet.
This program was not limited to just the inauguration of buses, but it also became an opportunity for a show of strength for the BJP government. All ministers of Delhi government participated in this event.
‘The public responded to the arrogant person’
On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made a scathing attack on the previous Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said that the people of Delhi have given a befitting reply to arrogance.
CM Gupta further said that Delhi had lagged behind in development for 11 years and people were yearning for basic facilities like water and sewage. He said that in the 2025 assembly elections, the public taught a lesson to those who had started considering themselves the owners of Delhi.
Delhi becomes EV bus capital of the country
With the inclusion of these 500 new buses in the fleet of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), the total number of e-buses in Delhi has increased to 4000. This figure establishes Delhi as the city with the largest electric bus fleet in the country. The government aims to strengthen public transport as well as control the rising pollution levels in the city. These buses are equipped with modern facilities and will provide a comfortable travel experience to the passengers.
