New Delhi. Mohammed Siraj shared his experience of suddenly playing in the T20 World Cup and told how a call from Suryakumar Yadav changed his luck. Siraj was planning to watch the Real Madrid match on February 15 and spend time with his family, but then captain Suryakumar Yadav called him and immediately asked him to join the T20 World Cup squad.
Before the start of the T20 World Cup, Harshit Rana got injured, who was replaced by Siraj. Along with this, due to Jasprit Bumrah being ill, Siraj came directly into the playing XI. In his first match against USA, Siraj took 3 wickets and gave away 29 runs in 4 overs. Before this, he last played T20 for India in 2024.

In the post-match press conference, Siraj said, “My plan was to watch the Real Madrid match on the 15th and spend time with the family as per Ramzan. But whatever God has written will happen. Surya Bhai called and he said, ‘Pack your bags and come’. I thought it was a joke at first, but I actually got a place in the team.”
Siraj also shared the secret of his brilliant spell: “I adopted the same line and length as I was doing in the Ranji Trophy. My plan was to bowl two-wickets by sticking to the new ball. This helped the team and also got wickets.”
This experience of Siraj made it clear that sudden opportunity and God’s plan sometimes change the fate of the player.
