Patna: Taking major action against the trade of fake medicines, the Drug Control Administration has busted an illegal drug factory operating in Ramakrishna Nagar police station area of ​​Patna. This factory, running under the name of Vibha Biotech, was operating in a private premises in Shivaji Chowk area, where various types of fake medicines were being prepared using the labels of renowned companies.

During the raid, a large quantity of counterfeit medicines for gas, cough syrup, pain, fever and skin diseases were recovered. These particularly include counterfeit consignments of popular medicines like Liv-52 Cough Syrup, Ibugesic Plus Syrup and Kasglow New Cream.

Apart from this, raw materials, machines used in drug manufacturing, wrappers, labels and packing materials like well-known companies were also seized. The estimated value of the seized material is said to be Rs 7 to 8 lakh.

Drug Inspector Jitendra Kumar said that in the raid conducted on the basis of secret information, it came to light that the fake medicines being prepared here were supplied to the drug markets of most of the districts of Bihar including Patna. Illegal business was going on through this network for a long time, due to which the health of the common people was being seriously affected.

The team of Drug Inspector Jitendra Kumar, Yashwant Jha, Neha Kumari, Sari and Sweta Singh were involved in this action. The team has lodged a written complaint against factory operator Sunil Kumar Jha. It is alleged that Sunil Jha had employed many people for the manufacture, supply and distribution of medicines. At present the factory has been sealed and the interrogation of the accused is going on. Based on his statement, preparations are being made to raid against other people associated with this racket.
