Guwahati, Feb 10: The recently published final electoral rolls for Assam indicate a reduction of over 2.43 lakh voters compared to the draft rolls, reflecting a slight but significant adjustment in the electorate ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections.
As per the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Assam, Anurag Goel, the finalized rolls now list 2.49 crore voters, which is a 0.97% decrease from the draft rolls released on December 27, 2025, that had recorded 2.52 crore electors.
“The final electoral roll has been released following the completion of the claims and objections phase, resulting in the removal of over 2.43 lakh names from the draft,” stated the CEO's office.
The updated rolls consist of approximately 1.25 crore male voters, 1.24 crore female voters, and 343 voters identifying as third-gender, showcasing a nearly balanced gender representation across the state.

Dimoria (SC) saw the largest numerical decline in D-Voters, with numbers falling from 1,765 to 1,734, and notably, female D-Voters constituted a larger portion of this reduction, as per officials.
Conversely, the number of service electors saw a slight increase, rising from 912 in the draft rolls to 918 in the final rolls, reflecting a net gain of six electors in Kamrup Metropolitan.
