WhatsApp is preparing to roll out a major design update for its Android users. According to reports, the company is adding new personalization features to the app, allowing users to customize the look of WhatsApp. This feature has been spotted in the beta version and may be released to all users in the future.
Feature tracker WABetaInfo reported on this update. According to the report, these new changes have appeared in WhatsApp's Android beta version 2.26.6.1. Currently, this update is only available to developers and select testers, but the company may make it available to general users in a future update.
14 New App Icons May Be Available
The most notable feature of this update is the option for 14 new app icons. These could include single-color icons like blue, brown, green, pink, purple, orange, and monochrome.
Stylish designs like Aurora, Galaxy, Neon, Sparkle, Clay, and Fluffy may also be seen. These icons will allow users to customize WhatsApp's home screen without the need for any third-party apps.
Support for up to 19 color options
Not only the icon, but also the accent color displayed within the WhatsApp app can be changed. According to reports, up to 19 different color options are expected. These could include colors like royal blue, violet, coral, teal, brown, beige, yellow, pink, red, orange, and dark olive green. Users who prefer the old classic green look will also retain that option.
If this update rolls out soon, WhatsApp will appear more personal and modern. Android users could have complete freedom to customize their messaging app to their liking.
