Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will operate about 2,243 buses to 43 Shivaite shrines for Maha Shivratri on February 15.
Additionally, the corporation will run 781 special buses to Srisailam, 416 to Vemulawada, 249 to Edupaya, 326 to Keesaragutta, 127 to Vela, 71 to Kaleswaram and 273 special buses to Komuravelli, Alampur, Umamaheswaram, Palakurti, Ramappa in the state. The services will be operational from February 14-16.
Special buses will be available for devotees from MGBS, JBS, IS Sadan, KPHB, BHEL to Srisailam shrine. RTC is setting up shamianas, drinking water and public address systems at these bus stations to assist passengers.

However, RTC has revised the ticket prices of special buses running on Shivratri as per the state government’s notification. While the ticket prices of special buses have been revised up to 1.5 times that of the regular fare, there has been no change in the ticket charges of regular services.
The revised fares will be applicable only for special buses running from 14th to 16th of this month. RTC clarified that free bus travel for women on Palle Velugu, Metro Express, City Express, City Ordinary services will continue as per state government’s scheme.
TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Y Nagireddy has reviewed Shivratri operations and directed officials to ensure that devotees do not face any convenience. RTC is running an additional 208 buses as compared to last year.
