City, February 11: Redmi is gearing up to launch the Redmi K90 Ultra in China, which will succeed the Redmi K80 Ultra that was introduced in June 2025. Recent reports suggest that the K90 Ultra will debut much earlier than its predecessor, with credible sources on Weibo supporting this timeline.
According to Experience More, a performance-focused smartphone powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset is currently under development, likely referring to the Redmi K90 Ultra. The device, identified by the model number 2604FRK1EC, is expected to feature an ultra-high refresh rate display and a built-in cooling fan, emphasizing its gaming capabilities and sustained performance. This model number was previously found in the GSMA IMEI database in December 2025.
The “2604” designation hints at a potential launch as early as April in China. Unlike earlier speculations, the K90 Ultra will utilize the Dimensity 9500 chip instead of the Dimensity 9500 Plus, which is anticipated to be released later in the year.
A standout feature of the Redmi K90 Ultra will be its built-in cooling system, a first for any Xiaomi device. It is expected to sport a large 6.8-inch display with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it may house an impressive 8,500mAh battery with 100W charging capabilities. Other rumored specifications include a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and full water resistance.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is rumored to be a modified version of the K90 Ultra intended for the global market. Carrying the model number 2602EPTC0G, this variant may lack some features, including the cooling fan. The model number suggests an early launch, but with the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra yet to be released globally, the 17T Pro is likely to debut in the first half of this year.
