Historic PSL 2026 player auction: All you need to know about players, prices, and team squads

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 has officially entered a new era. Today, February 11, the league held its first-ever PSL auction at Lahore’s Expo Centre, moving away from the traditional draft system used for the past decade.

According to a statement from the PCB, “This strategic shift is aimed at enhancing competitive balance and increasing transparency.”

The PSL auction 2026 players list featured over 800 cricketers.

Early highlights from the PSL live auction saw Islamabad United secure Faheem Ashraf for PKR 8.5 crore, while Karachi Kings won a bidding war for Australian star David Warner at PKR 7.9 crore.

Fans followed the PSL auction live via the league’s YouTube channel and Geo Super live updates.

This year, PSL 2026 expands to eight teams with the addition of the Sialkot Stallionz and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen. New franchises and old favourites like Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars had a salary cap of approximately PKR 45 crore to build their 16-to-20 player squads.

While big names moved, others like Imad Wasim surprisingly went unsold in the initial rounds. The PSL auction time began at 11:30 AM local time, setting the stage for the tournament scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
