The board has clarified that this time the examination system will be made more robust and transparent.
A total of 5.23 million students are registered for the 2026 UP Board exams. These include 2.75 million high school students and 2.479 million intermediate students. The board has taken several necessary steps to conduct the exams on such a large scale.
Exams will be held at 8,033 examination centers

Identity Cards with QR Codes for the First Time
The UP Board is taking a new initiative this year. For the first time, identity cards with QR codes are being issued to room inspectors. These identity cards were uploaded on the board's portal on February 10, 2026. This is intended to prevent fake room inspectors from being deployed. A thorough identity check will be conducted during the examination.
Room Inspectors to be Arranged by February 12
District School Inspectors (DIOS) of all districts have been instructed to coordinate with the Basic Education Officer (BSA) and ensure the availability of adequate room inspectors by February 12. The board does not want any center to be short of inspectors.
Medical facilities will also be available
First aid facilities will be available for students and staff during the examination. Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of all districts have been instructed to complete the necessary arrangements by February 13th. This will ensure that any health problems during the examination can be addressed promptly.
Special Attention to Cleanliness
The Board has also emphasized cleanliness around the examination centers. The Chief Development Officers (CDOs) of all districts have been instructed to ensure a clean environment around the centers before February 13th. In urban areas, sanitation will be strengthened in collaboration with the Municipal Commissioner.

The UP Board has declared 18 districts as sensitive this time. These include Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Kasganj, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Kannauj, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Deoria, and Gonda.
