Prince William was said to be "infuriated" with his "despicable" uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, refusing to protect him and supporting Jeffrey Epstein's victims instead, it has been claimed. The Prince and Princess of Wales made an unprecedented move earlier this week by issuing a bombshell statement distancing themselves from the disgraced former Duke of York.

Kensington Palace said the future King and his wife are "deeply concerned by the continuing revelations" that have emerged in the Epstein files. In their first official statement on the scandal, William and Catherine added that their "thoughts remain with the victims".

Speaking to journalists in Riyadh, their official spokesperson said: "I can confirm the Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims."

Now, a royal expert said that William broke the royal tradition of being silent and not commenting on matters and his decision gave a hint of how his future reign is going to be.

Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: "Prince William, with the major influence of Princess Catherine, is modernising the monarchy by clarifying their position, which is with the victims. This demonstrates William's moral authority. We can expect that he will not do anything to defend his despicable uncle."

Ms Fordwich added that the Wales couple are "aligned" with the "public disgust" against Andrew's behaviour, saying that Catherine's non-royal background gives her a "clear outsider's perspective".

She concluded: "William is determined to lead from a moral perspective, not bound by loyalty to anything or anyone of a lower standard. We are witnessing the early framework of his future reign. "

Meanwhile, a royal commentator told the outlet: "If it were up to Prince William, he would have dealt with the Andrew fallout a long time ago. He is furious with the negative impact on the royal family's standing due to his uncle Andrew's despicable behaviour. He has no allegiance to his uncle."

Buckingham Palace also said it would "stand ready to support" Thames Valley Police if approached over claims involving the King's brother.
