No matter how often you mop your floors or scrub the tiles in your kitchen or bathroom, if the grout is stained and dirty, it will still appear unclean. There are several methods you could use to bring it back to its original condition, but cleaning expert Mrs Hinch, otherwise known as Sophie Hinchliffe, has amazed her fans with a straightforward but powerful cleaning tip that has left her "absolutely buzzing".
The expert, who currently boasts nearly five million followers on Instagram, is famous for her amazing cleaning hacks and tips that she shares with her fans. Fortunately, after not planning to do so at first, she has also shared this specific tip. Presumably just enjoying her favourite hobby while at home one day, Mrs Hinch was tidying up her house and recognised that her method for cleaning the kitchen floor would be something her fans would appreciate seeing, as she frequently receives inquiries about it.
In a short Instagram story, she said: "Currently sitting on my kitchen floor. I wasn't going to film this, and then I thought, 'Do you know what, I will', because so many people ask me about grout in tiles."
She then showed the product she had used to restore her grout to white again, which was a magic eraser. "This is a damp magic eraser. I have got a bit of Elbow Grease as well, just in case it's a little too stubborn," she explained as she used the eraser to wipe down a section of the grout, which was immediately cleaned.
Sophie added, "Feel like I've got a new floor. So if you need to tackle your dirty grout, buy some magic erasers. Look at the difference. Absolutely buzzing."
Made from aelamine foam, magic erasers are a major asset in any cleaning kit. The most common use for this handy tool is to remove stains from a range of surfaces.
Free of any chemicals, it's the abrasive quality of a magic eraser that gives it cleaning power.
Households can pick up a pack of three of this clever cleaning sponge from B&Q for £2. This works out as 67p per sponge.
Alternatively, these magic erasers can be purchased in bulk (50 pack) from Amazon for £7.99.
If you're looking for another natural way to whiten stained grout, Express.co.uk has found that baking soda made into a paste with water works extremely well.
We also found that using steam works faster at blasting stains from grout without the need to scrub.
