One of the biggest actions ever taken against drug trade has taken place in Madhya Pradesh. A sudden raid was conducted in a peaceful rural area of the state and an illegal network was exposed which surprised even the investigating agencies. The investigation, which started with a simple search of the bus, revealed the secret of the entire drug syndicate.
This action became bigger when the investigation team reached a secret factory, where narcotics were being manufactured on a large scale. A huge quantity of crystal MD and drugs making chemicals were recovered from the factory, the value of which is said to be worth crores of rupees.
The entire secret of the drug network was revealed by the search of the bus.
According to the information, the action started on the night of February 13, when the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) team received information that a large consignment of narcotics was being sent through bus.
The team stopped a bus in Mandsaur area of Madhya Pradesh and searched the suspicious passengers. During the search, more than 8 kg of crystal MD was recovered from two people. This recovery was big in itself, but the real revelation came after interrogation. When the arrested accused were strictly interrogated, they revealed the address of the main source of drugs. From here the path to access the entire network opened.
Operation went on all night, secret factory found in the morning
After receiving the information, various units of CBN started joint action. Teams conducted continuous search operations in the surrounding areas. The scope of the investigation grew and eventually officials got information about a suspicious location in a rural area of Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) tehsil.
At around 11 in the morning, the investigation team found a secret factory, where drugs were being manufactured on a large scale. The factory was completely set up for illegal activities. Even the officials were surprised to see the equipment, chemicals and finished goods inside.
Drugs and chemicals worth crores seized
During a search of the factory, officials recovered approximately 43.82 kg of additional Crystal MD. When the quantity seized from the bus was added, the total amount of drugs seized reached approximately 52 kg.
Apart from this, more than 260 kg of suspicious chemicals, drug making machines and equipment were also recovered. According to the investigating agencies, it was an organized factory where illegal narcotics were being manufactured for a long time. The market value of the recovered drugs is said to be crores of rupees, from which it can be estimated how big and active this network was.
The investigation is now moving towards bigger networks
Investigating officials believe that this may not be a case of just one factory, but a part of a larger network. Such drugs are usually supplied in many states and big cities. The teams are now busy identifying the supply chain, financing and other people associated with it. It is expected that more arrests may be made in the coming days.
