Shivapadi Vaibhava: Pejawar seer says Rudra's blessings lead to overall development

Manipal: Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Teertha said that with the blessings of Lord Rudra, overall development is possible and that unity among citizens is essential for the progress of a village.

He was speaking at a religious gathering organised as part of the Maha Shivaratri celebrations at Shivapadi Sri Umamaheshwara Temple. The programme titled “Shivapadi Vaibhava” was organised by the Temple Development Trust and the Shivapadi Vaibhava Celebration Committee in the temple premises on Sunday.

The seer said that the mind is the root cause of both good and bad actions. He added that the blessings of Lord Rudra, who controls the mind, help prevent people from taking the wrong path and guide them towards righteousness.

MAHE Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen (Retd) Dr M.D. Venkatesh said the event being held in the spiritually vibrant temple environment should gain more recognition. He stressed that children must participate in such programmes in large numbers and that values and culture should be taught from a young age.

Former Legislative Council member Dayanand Reddy and entrepreneur Prasadraj Kanchan also addressed the gathering.

Several dignitaries, including industrialists Raghuram Reddy (Hubballi), Muniyalu Uday Shetty, Parvath Shetty (Mumbai), Shivananda Prabhu, Dayananda Prabhu, Ananta Nayak, Suggi Sudhakar Shetty, Babu Nayak, president S. Dinesh Prabhu, Moktesar Subhakar Samant, Purushothama Prabhu, Sudhakar Shenoy, trustees G. Krishnaraya Prabhu and Sanjay Prabhu, and committee member Prakash Kukkehalli were present.

Medical Director of Prasad Netralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospitals Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu, Sharada Residential School Director Vidyavanta Acharya and social worker Ranjit Shetty (Pune) were felicitated by the seer. Temple attendant Sarasu and achievers in the field of music were also honoured.

Administrative Moktesar Mahesh Thakur welcomed the gathering, while Prakash Prabhu delivered the introductory remarks. Permanent trustee Dinesh Sridhara Samant introduced the temple. Trustee Satish Patil proposed the vote of thanks, and secretary Gopalakrishna Prabhu compered the programme.
