New Delhi, 18 February 2026: Tech giant and Google CEO Sundar Pichai had a special meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital Delhi. Sundar Pichai will deliver the keynote address on the last day of this summit i.e. on 20th February. He is likely to make important announcements regarding the social impact of Artificial Intelligence and Google’s investment in India. This global summit has been organized from 16 to 20 February at the prestigious ‘Bharat Mandapam’ in New Delhi. More than 110 countries, 30 international organizations, approximately 20 heads of state and more than 45 ministers are participating in this summit. This summit is the first major AI conference to be held in the Global South, whose main theme is ‘AI for Humanity’. This event is based on the three foundations of ‘People’ (Loco), ‘Planet’ (Prithvi) and ‘Progress’ (Pragati).

Talking about the increasing influence of AI, Prime Minister Modi had said that India’s IT sector has been the backbone of the country’s economic development. The new frontiers of automation and outsourcing created by AI are a big opportunity for India. The PM expressed confidence that with the help of AI, India’s IT sector has the potential to reach $400 billion by 2030. The main objective of this summit is to not limit AI technology to just economic progress and make it safe, inclusive and sustainable for the society.
