While drinking hot tea or coffee, sometimes our tongue gets burnt and then it causes burning sensation, swelling, redness and small blisters and such a situation becomes very painful. Because after this neither one can eat nor drink anything. In such a situation, there are some easy home remedies which can give you relief from this problem. So let’s know about that.

cold water or ice

Immediately fill your mouth with cold (but not very icy) water and keep it for a few seconds. Slowly rotating a small ice cube in the mouth also reduces the burning sensation.

Honey

Honey has natural antibacterial properties. Apply some honey on the tongue and leave it for some time. This can reduce irritation and swelling.

Curd

Applying cold curd on the tongue or eating one or two spoons slowly provides coolness and reduces the burning sensation.

Milk

Keeping cold milk in the mouth for a few seconds provides relief. It soothes the burnt surface.

ghee or coconut oil

Applying a little desi ghee or coconut oil on the tongue can reduce dryness and irritation.

salt water rinse

Mix some salt in lukewarm water and rinse lightly. This reduces the risk of infection and the blisters heal quickly.
