Arsenal player ratings vs Wolves as Gabriel and Raya cost Gunners big in the title race
Football | February 19, 2026 7:39 AM CST

Arsenal suffered a huge blow in the Premier League title race after Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya made a mess at the back in the final moments against Wolves.

The Gunners took the lead inside the first five minutes after a gorgeous cross from Declan Rice found Bukayo Saka in his central role in the box. However, despite how poor their opponents were, Arsenal conspired to somehow make the game semi-competitive and only led by a single goal at the break.

After a lengthy VAR check in the second half, Piero Hincapie had timed his run to perfection to double the Gunners' lead only to see Hugo Bueno cancel his goal out minutes later with a great curling effort.

Here is how football.london rated the performances of the Arsenal players involved:

David Raya – Hadn’t been forced into much but couldn’t get a glove to Bueno’s shot. Big miscommunication at the end and it proved costly. 5

Jurrien Timber – Took a big kick midway through the first half and just didn’t look right after that. In the second half he arguably should have been changed for Ben White but no change came. 5

William Saliba – Forced to cut out a cross from the right, reading the run of Tolu behind him. 7

Gabriel – Excellent pass through to his left-back teammate for the Gunners’ second goal. However didn’t hear the shout of his keeper at the end and the rest could be history. 6

Piero Hincapie – Found his way into the box and made a good call for a penalty too. But was nowhere to be seen for the Bueno goal. 7

Martin Zubimendi – Needed to find a greater influence on the game, but was rather quiet. 5

Declan Rice – Brilliant and typical cross from Rice from the left-hand side into the box. He had to fight hard throughout the game and make up for some of his teammates' shortfalls. 8

Bukayo Saka – Continuing in his central role, Bukayo Saka managed to put his side in the lead, ghosting into the box to tap in Rice’s cross. After the goal, however, the attacker failed to create much in the way of big moments. 7

Noni Madueke – Would find himself on the end of a good cross in the first half, but couldn’t redirect the header. He faded considerably in the second half and was replaced. 6

Viktor Gyokeres – Really poor game from the striker, who failed to get into the match whatsoever and made some poor choices in the rare moments he was on it. 4

Gabriel Martinelli – Ended up getting into needless battles with Mosquera and failed to make a serious impact on proceedings. 5

Substitutes:

Eberechi Eze – Was lively in the first few minutes of coming on, but he too faded. 5

Gabriel Jesus – Didn’t offer anything more than the man he replaced. 4

Leandro Trossard – Made some poor decisions while coming off the bench. 4

Riccardo Calafiori - Came on late to replace Trossard. n/a
