New Delhi. Team India has confirmed its place in the T20 World Cup Super-8, but the team management will also go with full force in the last group match to be held on Wednesday (February 18). Team India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak clearly said about the performance of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah that at present there is no possibility of him being rested against the Netherlands.
“Right now it doesn’t look like Bumrah will get any rest. The final decision will be taken before the match. Our aim is to maintain the momentum in the tournament,” Kotak said in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday. Bumrah’s performance against Pakistan was decisive, in which he took the wickets of Sam Ayub and captain Salman Ali Aga and led Team India to a big win of 61 runs.
The Sports Science team of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is constantly monitoring Bumrah’s workload and he can be rotated if needed.

Young opener Abhishek Sharma was recently admitted to a hospital in Delhi due to stomach problem and could not play against Namibia. He made a comeback in the Pakistan match, but was out in the first over. Kotak defended him, saying, “Abhishek was not fully fit. We will not over-analyze his performance. He is clear about his plans.”
Kotak also praised wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan. He said, “Ishaan’s self-confidence has been his strength since childhood and this mentality makes him different in T20 cricket. His half-century innings against Pakistan proved to be the foundation of victory.”
Kotak also talked about not taking Netherlands lightly. He said, “This tournament has seen constant upsets. No match is easy. Every team can beat anyone. So every match is important for us.”
Team India will play its last group match against Netherlands in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Bumrah, Ishan Kishan and other key players of the team will enter the field with full preparation.
