Golden opportunity for youth, AI will change job picture, India becomes skill hub of the world

AI will increase employability, direct connection from classroom to career

The summit made it clear that now education will not be limited to degree only, but emphasis will be on skill development as per the needs of the industry. Around 20 lakh new jobs are expected to be created by 2030 in fields like animation, gaming, visual effects and comics. The youth are directly connecting with the market needs through startup pitches, innovation challenges and live demos. This is giving new impetus to employment generation.

Demand for AI skills increased 75% faster

The share of AI- jobs in South Asia increased from 2.9% to 6.5% between January 2023 and March 2025. Demand for AI skills is growing 75% faster than non-AI roles. This change clearly indicates that digital skills, technical proficiency and multi-disciplinary knowledge are now the new job requirements.

Big plan for AI youth in Budget 2026-27

The government gave priority to AI skilling in Budget 2026-27. Mumbai-based Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) was supported to set up AI labs in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges. This will open the way for about 20 lakh new jobs. Along with this, “Education to Employment and Enterprise Standing Committee” It was proposed to strengthen the coordination between education and industry.

AI infrastructure strengthened with ₹10,300 crore

Under the IndiaAI mission, the government plans to develop a capacity of over 58,000 GPUs by investing over ₹10,300 crore. Startups and students will get compute access at a subsidized rate of ₹65 per hour. With this, the youth of small towns will also get equal opportunities.

Strong infrastructure from school to research lab

AI training from basic to advanced level is being provided through programs like NEP 2020, YUVAi, FutureSkills Prime and Skill India Mission. The summit provided a global platform to youth and women entrepreneurs through the YUVAi Global Youth Challenge and AI by HER Global Impact Challenge.

India made Guinness World Record

India created a Guinness World Record by taking more than 2.5 lakh AI Responsibility Pledges in 24 hours to promote responsible use of AI. This shows that India is looking at AI not just as technology, but as a form of responsible citizenship.

AI will become the strength of developed India 2047

The youth of India are no longer becoming consumers of AI but rather creators. On the strength of skilling, startups and digital infrastructure, the country is moving towards global AI leadership.
